I tried out several like FRAPS, Dxtory, Bandicam, and even free ones like xfire. Out of every one that I've used this program was the best to use out of all of them. Fraps took too much memory and didn't compress well. Dxtory was fantastic until certain games doesn't work well with it and renders it useless. Bandicam is the closest to Playclaw, but playclaw beats it by just the simplicity and features it provides. I haven't encountered a problem with playclaw since I got it. So long as this program is updated, it never will.. You should switch to and download OBS. This has much less customization and optimization than most free recording software, the framerate upon using this in game drops exponentially, It should only drop 5 or so frames but it usually drops 20 or more. This does seem to work better than Nvidia Shadowplay, however, this software tends to crash more. I bought this back when It cost five USD, now it costs $40? Honestly I wouldn't recommend this even if It were free, as their are many more, better free recording programs out there. Don't be me and use this for 68 hours before finding OBS.. After 5 went on sale during the holidays, I decided it might be a good idea to pick it up. I was immediately in love when I saw that as soon as I launch it, it unhooks itself from Steam, and doesn't show me in a piece of recording software for hours! I have to come to like this more than Action (another really awesome screen recorder) and liteCam (a decent one) when it comes to pickings on Steam. Playclaw is full of settings, including: Exporting each audio track separate from video Free broadcasting to services such as Twitch.tv (Granted, it could use some work.) Multiple overlays that do not show up in the recording Plethora of encoding options (for raw YouTube, MJPEG @ 90% quality with 1 compression thread is the best) This software doesn't touch my FPS, unlike other reviews claim (then again, I have somewhat higher specs than some). So, in final, I could easily recommend this over Action, Fraps, DxTory, liteCam, and all others to anyone if they ever asked, and were willing to shell out $40.00. Currently am enjoying this recording software. Very Very good screen capture program! Many of useful feature and smooth recording!. This application rulz great support from the developers and regular updates.
